BIOGRAPHY

Sylvie Tannhäuser is a Certified Event & Meeting Professional with more than 10 years planning and creating successful events & meetings in the US and abroad. She started her career as a Public Relations Attaché for the French Convention & Tourist Bureau and has developed event marketing & communication programs for corporations and associations.

After eight successful years, she traveled and worked with high-profile Event Planners in the Fashion, Interior Design and Luxury industries in Europe, US and the Caribbean. Offering a blend of creativity, knowledge and passion, Sylvie’s unique approach enables her to anticipate client needs and plan memorable events. 

Today, as the Events & Meetings Director at the Galleria at Lafayette Centre, which is one of Washington, DC most distinctive event venues, she oversees every event, meeting and wedding with grace and professionalism.

Sylvie received Degrees in Public Relations and International Affairs at the École Supérieure de Commerce College (ESICAD) in France and became a Certified Event Planner and Public Relations Professional by the European Federation of Higher Education (FEDE). Sylvie is a member of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI)

Sylvie conducts seminars and workshops on Meetings, Events and Hospitality industries and is currently authoring a publication for the meeting & event industry with emphasis on Green and International Meetings Destinations.

When she’s not planning events, Sylvie enjoys traveling, interior design, art exhibitions, cultural activities, wine tasting, reading biographies and volunteering for organizations such as the Red Cross.
